Families choose any provider, however if they choose a provider that has rates higher than the maximum PACEAPP can reimburse as allowed by the state, a co-payment may result. Families are required to pay a co-payment if the provider's rates are higher than the maximum PACEAPP can reimburse as allowed by the state. Families pay the difference directly to the child care provider. We will inform the family of any co-payment that needs to be paid. The co-payment will be printed on the Child Care Certificate that both the parent and the provider are to review, sign, and return to their case manager.
Paying a Co-Payment Example
Mrs. and Mr. Smith choose Kiddie Play World as their child care provider for their infant daughter Julie. Kiddie Play World charges $600 a month for the care of infants. The market rate in the Smith's county is $550 a month for the care of infant children. That means that PACEAPP can reimburse $550 to Kiddie Play World. The Smith's will need to pay a monthly co-payment of $50 per month ($600 - $550 = $50). They will pay this directly to Kiddie Play World.
